Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 12: 1-27
“…All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” (v.27 NLT)
Thought
As we pray for our community today, I was drawn to these verses which compare the Church to
the human body; each with a vital role to play, however small or insignificant that might feel to
us or others.
So it is with our community; we all have a special part in creating something much bigger than
ourselves as we seek to be Jesus’ hands and feet to those around us.For Prayer
Today, I’d love for you to join me in prayer as we:
- Ask God to show us what particular role he has called us to be to serve Him and His people in
the Maidstone area.- Say sorry for the times when we don’t want to engage with our community and ask God to stir
our hearts to see needs and equip us to respond to them.- Thank God for the great opportunities that we have to work collaboratively with other local
churches to further the Kingdom and ask for a greater sense of unity.- Thank God for those who give of their time, treasures and talents to be the hands and feet of
Jesus in a range of places around our town working with the least, the last and the lost:
including prisons, schools, hospitals, foodbanks and homeless projects.- Praise God that he has put us in this particular place, for such a time as this and that we would
see Him moving powerfully in our town.
If as you listen to God, he gives you a word or scripture that you sense is for us as a church
please email it to vision@stlukesmaidstone.church
