Carbon Net-Zero Demonstrator Church
As part of a wider project of building improvement works, St Luke’s became a Net Zero Carbon Programme Demonstrator Church.
As a church we have a strong vision benchmarked by two simple questions; Will what we do help people come to faith and grow in faith in Jesus? We quickly realised we needed warm and welcoming community spaces within our building.
We are so incredibly grateful to have received a grant of £50,000 from the Net Zero Programme and £36,000 from the Benefact Trust to help us install heating systems that keep our community spaces warm and welcoming, and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
To find out more, watch the video from the Church of England, filmed at St Luke’s about this essential work.

ECO CHURCH BRONZE AWARD
St Luke’s is a church that loves God, and all that he has made. St Luke’s is an Eco Church and in 2018 received the A Rocha Bronze Award for our commitment to caring for God’s creation.
We believe that God made humanity in his image, as his image bearers we have a responsibility to care for and work with the good environment God has created. We are conscious of our responsibility to carefully steward the global resources that God has given us and, in particular, our impact on the environment. We want to be proactive in reducing our impact and carbon emissions so that we can be carbon neutral by 2030.
